goodbye 2007, hello 2008.

well, in a few more hours' time, it's gonna be the new year. just thought i'll put another post up, esp when 2007 has been such a quiet year on this blog. heh.

been thinking a bit on what 2007 was to me, and i realise i really ought to be thankful for a year of the most changes & stress, but yet the one that i was most blessed too. (unintended rhyme there. lol.) hahah. yes, i'm sounding emo again i know. am & always will be. :p

so yep, a BIG THANKS to all my dearies for being there for me, whether it was your support for my uni application, your encouragement when i was stress abt work/school, or your love shown in any possible way to me. :) may 2008 be a good blessed year to you dearies in return for all the love!

*phew!!!*

before i start.....*takes a deep breathe*

ahhhhh....

hahaha. honestly, just as i said in my last post that i shld add a few more posts before a whole truckload of holiday activities come my way, like 3 days later i got myself involved in volunteering at a Singapore Design Festival exhibition for 2 weeks (was involved earlier on alr but din expect it to re-start again so soon!) and yah, after that everything else came crashing along as well. hahaha. hence my blogging intentions were delayed. AGAIN.

anyway, just came back from a prawning outing with my buddies. hahaha. super ex considering we only caught like abt 15 prawns with 4 rods between the 6 of us. and each rod rental was like $26 for 3 hours!! but yah, while waiting for the catch can be rather boring and demoralising (esp when there are prawning pros catching 1 every 3 mins!!!), it's heck lot exciting and scary when the prawn bites! haha. these prawns are HUGE...with pincers!!! so hard to get them off the hook and girls being girls, we were like screaming when we caught the huge ones. think a lot of the pple ard the pond were like -.-". hahaha.

oh oh, and there was this small boy, no more than 8 years old, who was like SO PRO that he'll just grip the prawn with his bare hands and unhook it so easily! he helped me when i caught this super big prawn with pincers twice as long as my fingers! so paiseh lah. cos when i caught it up i was like "oh shit! it's so friggin' big!!!" then the boy, who was standing next to me, looked at me, and i looked back at him...then he calmly reached for the prawn, unhooked it for me, and dumped the prawn into our holding net. so sweet of him!! (and a bit embarrassing for me) lol. :p

my holidays are not looking any less busy from here on out tho, even when the exhibition's done and over with (thankfully!). dance practices, christmas prep, more gatherings, work-study drawings, my one-&-only holiday "assignment" for 2D, driving, and stuff at home that i'm supposed to pack/fix. hahaha. every student knows that the holidays is just a break from school but not a break for resting really. still, i'm enjoying it. :)

out for now, let's see when's the next time i get to sit down & blog again. heh. :p

and if you thought this blog was dead...

WELL, I'M BACK!!!

(hahahah. yeah, this blog was never declared dead in the first place. so no excuses for assuming! :p)

i know i know, it's been close to 6 months since i last posted anything, much to the point that i even have my message board (on blogspot) whining back at me abt being mouldy (thanks to a particular goodness-knows-who, no less. lol.)

lemme see, checking the last post i have....that would be when i just started my second job at BNS (Bank of Nova Scotia) and just received news that i got into ADM (art, design & media) at NTU. wow. seems ages ago really. haha. think i ought to explain my absence a bit? ok here goes.

the may-july period was so packed with activites like council stayover at sentosa, 24th investiture, etc....so that was reason no. 1: "TOO MANY STUFF TO BLOG ABT, TOO LITTLE TIME!" hahahah. the "too little time" part also mainly cos my job at BNS pretty much required me to work from 9am till almost 8+pm every weekday, sometimes even needing to work on saturdays and public hols. so you can imagine how much time i had left for my own stuff.

the july-august period was just plain laziness as my excuse lah huh. hahah yes i admit it. ok lah, there was ADM orientation and preparation for uni etc, but cos it was just abt the only time that i have a break after quitting my BNS job and before i start uni, so i was rather lazing around, sleeping >12 hours a day and playing games during whatever's left of the day. hahahah.

then came MADNESS!!

hahaha, no lah. uni started in early august (NTU starts the earliest of the 3 unis) and so from there on out up till now, it's been a crazy 17 weeks of art classes and assignments. not to mention that just as i thought the working hours at BNS was crazy, the working hours at ADM are hysterical cos i pretty much SURVIVE at least half of those 17 weeks on less than 7 hours of sleep everyday. (more on school life in the subsequent posts :)) no prizes for guessing how much time i had left for blogging. heh.

apologies to anyone who relies on this blog for my updates because those who i am close to are usually updated via msn. and looking back at my posts the last one year or so, i realise that quite a number of posts are just an avenue for me to let out my emotions (generally negative), hence with all frustration, stress that i've had the last 6 months, i just didn't want to repeat the process all over again, making my blog such a sad collection of memories. :)

since i'm free now (last of my exams was on the 19th), and before another trainload of holiday stuff come my way, i think i shall post a few posts here soon. hahah. no guarantees really. and pardon me if my posts are rather disorganised or sound different from what i used to write. blogging again aft such a long time feels rather....weird. hahaha. :p

that reminds me. i ought to update my profile page, and the other pages as well. oh, AND put this post up on my lj as well! lol. :p

read: LABOUR day.

oh gosh, for the 1st time in my entire life, i actually WORKED on a public holiday. okay, well, i do recall going back to school on labour day 2005 to prepare for council investiture but that's different from the corporate world. somemore my bank job is usually a 5-day work week, no shift-kind-of-job, PLUS i'm only a temp staff so i wasn't expecting to be called back on a public holiday. but oh wells, banks being banks, it's understandably more hectic at month-end so guess i can only justify my 'labour' with better pay. hee. =P

actually, i should say that my public-holiday "holiday" really started only in the evening when i joined hwei san & the councillors at minds cafe@boat quay for a night of fun games. =) played "saboteur" and "take-6", which was just about it cos we didn't have much time since the following day was a work-day. sigh. see, the world's evolved to revolve around work now. lectures, tutorials, exams, & trainings seem oh-so-far-away now.

hmm. somehow council gatherings now are usually the same few pple...unsurprisingly so, but hopefully there comes a day when most (i.e. >75%!!) of the 22nd councillors can meet up again. =)
